Q: Need to be in front of my PC to download data? A: No. Once QDU is started, it will connect to the Internet, download the necessary data and update periodically your MetaStock databases.

Q: Need to be MetaStock running? A: Not necessary .

Q: Does QDU provide live charts? A: NO. Not being a real-time data converter, QDU does not notify MetaStock when new data is available. Instead you must use de refresh data button in MetaStock to load the most recent data.

Q: How to open the QDU downloaded data with MetaStock? A: Use  File Open with Files of type: Smart Charts , to redirect MetaStock to the folder where QDU has been installed. Data folders are created as subfolders of that previous folder.

Q: How to identify data folders? A: Each folder is named by the Yahoo!  market suffix , normally 2 letters (e.g.: Viena= vi), exceptuating USA markets, where folders are labeled usa_<name of the index/sector> (e.g.: usa_oex for SP100 stocks).

Q: How to add to an existing folder, unexisting stocks? e.g. Zeltia in german exchange XETRA. A: Fisrt look at the code search page http://finance.yahoo.com/l searching for, "zeltia" in "Stocks" and "World Markets". See below.

then add the security to the desired MetaStock folder as a New Security. Make sure the "Symbol" matches exactly the one in the homonymous column. There is a limit of 255 stocks per folder.

QDU will take care to add the necessary price history. Those stocks will update only with previous closing prices, the day after.

Q: Once QDU is installed and my email is registered, what's next? A: Choose option Settings/User Id  to change (see image) the previous key (e.g. anonimo) for your personal registration key. Close QDU and start it again.

Q: How do I know when I need to renew my subscription? A: QDU informs you every minute about the remaining days/sessions.
